I would like to thank everyone for their friendship and support over the last 13 years. It has been my privilege to lead the school. I have met so many wonderful young people and their families. I take great pride in seeing countless young people grow up into young adults ready for the challenge of modern day society and know they will continue to meet with success in the future.
The young people of Seaham are very talented and never cease to amaze me. The respect they have shown me during my time at Seaham School of Technology and Seaham High School, is truly appreciated.
I leave with fond memories, way too many to mention here and whilst there have been many challenges along the way, it is the success of our young people which, as I move into retirement, gives me the most satisfaction.
I must also thank all those staff that I have had the pleasure of working with over the years for their truly outstanding commitment to the young people of Seaham. You will have to go a long way to find better and more supportive staff. They embrace a team philosophy and work tirelessly for the benefit of the young people and this community.
Moving into retirement, I look forward to relaxing holidays and spending more time with my family. I wish all at Seaham High School and those associated with the school, every success in the future.
Best wishes Dave Shield
