Arrangements for the return to school in January 2021
Dear Parent/Carer
I didn’t imagine I would be contacting you again quite so soon. You will be aware of the Government announcement yesterday regarding return to school in January. The Government have made clear that exam classes should return in the first week of January, whilst other year groups should be set remote learning. Arrangements are as follows;
- Monday January 4th the school will be closed to students but open to all staff.
- Tuesday January 5th Year 11 should attend school as normal. The timetable will be Week 2. All other year groups should access their remote learning. Instructions as to how to access remote learning are attached. We will provide computer access and supervision for students of Critical key workers and vulnerable students in Year’s 7-10.
- Monday 11th January all Year Groups attend as normal.
If you are entitled to Free School Meals please contact Mrs Luke at the school reception on Monday January 4th and she will arrange for a food parcel to be collected by yourselves. We will endeavour to contact parents who are Key workers and parents of vulnerable students either today or on Monday 4th January.
From the 4th January access to mass testing will be rolled out to all secondary schools. The details of this are yet to be clarified. I will as always make you aware of the information as and when I receive it. The logistics of this are a significant challenge so I would ask you to bear with us whilst we learn more about it.
Once again- thank you for your support and can I wish you all a safe and restful Christmas and all the best for the New Year!
Yours sincerely
Mr G.W. Lumsdon
Head Teacher
