In the most recent destination survey in November 2017, 92.2% of students who left school in 2017 were meeting the duty to participate, compared to 94.2% for County Durham. 4.6% were recorded as NEET, compared to the County Durham average of 2.9%.
In January 2018 the analysis of Year 11 students who left school in 2015 showed that 8.2% of students were NEET two years on from leaving Seaham High School. This compares to a regional average of 6.5%. Analysis of Year 11 students who left school in 2014 showed that 5.3% of students were NEET compared to a regional average of 6.4%. This data obviously includes the additional two years in further education, employment or training.
In April 2016 94.1% of students who left school in 2015 were meeting the duty to participate, matching the comparable data for County Durham.

NEET figures for the whole cohort 16-18 have reduced year on year from 9.93% in November 2012 to 3.8% in November 2015*.
