Apologies for disturbing your evening. I’ve received the following briefing from the Head of Education and Skills this evening.
“Due to the significant increase in Covid-19 cases in education settings, Amanda Healy (Director of Public Health) has requested that any education setting with 2 or more confirmed cases will be asked to reintroduce the use of face coverings in school. This will help to reduce the risk of transmission within the education setting.”
As we had two confirmed cases this morning I have to make the wearing of face coverings compulsory for all students, staff and visitors both in lessons and in communal areas unless the student is exempt. Any student, member of staff or visitor who is exempt should wear their Green lanyard or collect another. We do have a supply of face masks and obviously will be ordering more to support with this.
I know that this is the last thing any of us want, however you will appreciate that as always we need to follow the guidance to help reduce transmission and keep people safe. Therefore, can I ask that all students bring face coverings tomorrow?
Thank you for your support with the lunch situation this week, hopefully we will return to normal service on Tuesday next week.
