I am disappointed to inform you that I have spoken with Governors and made the decision to close the Year 8 and Year 9 Bubbles. This is due to the recent increase in positive cases in school and in the wider community along with the number of staff who are now self isolating. This decision has been reached due to evidence of in school transmission despite our best efforts to contain the virus. I know that this will be another bitterly disappointing blow after an incredibly tough year. However, our foremost concern is always the health and well-being of students and staff.
The Bubbles will be closed until Tuesday 13th July at the earliest. I will update parents on Monday as to the number of Coronavirus cases and the staffing situation. Remote learning will be in place. All staff will load resources and lessons to Google classroom and links will be available for live lessons on Google classroom. If anyone needs support with Free School Meals or access to remote learning then please contact the office by either email or phone the school tomorrow morning.
To clarify closure of the Bubble does NOT mean students have to self isolate– only those students who have been notified with letters identifying them as close contacts need to isolate.
